As a hybrid bridging the gap between summer pumps and winter knee-highs, ankle boots (or booties) have notoriously presented a sartorial hardship when it comes to finding the perfect accompaniment.  Internal battles often include questions like - To tuck in or cuff the jeans? Are these maxi or only mini appropriate? Do shorts EVER work? So when it comes to styling your new pair of ankle boots, experiment accordingly because no rules apply.  As you can see, they can look just as chic alongside pleated skirts as they do with leather skinnies.
