Chanel used serial stickers from the mid 1980's through 2021 and the serial numbers correspond to the production year of the bag. Starting in April 2021, Chanel began adding RFID microchips and a gold plaque with a serial number. This new number no longer corresponds to an exact production year and is instead a combination of 6 numbers and letters for a unique serial number. Chips can be scanned by Chanel to reveal information about the bag.

Louis Vuitton date codes are often printed on/in leather tabs in pockets or directly onto interior linings. There are two letters which correspond to a factory and a series of 3 or 4 numbers which correspond to the production year. The second and fourth numbers are the year your bag was made. If it was made in March 2021 or later, there will be no code as the newest bag now contain RFID microchips.

Vachetta leather patinas over time as a result of oils transferred from your skin or exposure to moisture or dirt. You can use a dry magic eraser to remove any surface debris and follow it with a very small amount of leather conditioner. Applying any liquid such as leather conditioner can darken the vachetta, but it may help to condition it and even out any spots.

Unfortunately, color transfer is not something we are able to remove from bags. Certain leather styles can be repainted by a specialist, but any patent or vernis bags cannot.

We are not able to repair items at our facility. For Louis Vuitton items, you can initiate a repair request directly through the Louis Vuitton app or take it to a Louis Vuitton store. We also recommend the Leather Surgeons as a company that can repair or recondition your designer items. Click here to visit their website.

We do provide authentication services for those local to the Tampa, FL area. You can bring your item into our retail store and we will use our third party program called Entrupy to authenticate your item. If it is authentic, we can print a certificate for you. The charge to authenticate is $35 bags and $145 for Hermes bags.
